Daniels Gate Park on New Years 2018

Daniels Gate Park is a popular spot among Colorado high schoolers. They often go up to the park just to hang out and break away from the mundane life of just going to school. Now the park was just renovated and made the photography spots less assessable however the fences are easy to climb. All these pictures were taken before the renovations about 5 minutes north from the main gazebo. I was out there with my friend just catching up and taking pictures and the one above was really exciting to see. The lense made the effect that the clouds were moving towards the front of the picture and the baren leaves create a nice contrast to the blue.

Here above is a photo of the famous Pikes Peak. While it is still a 40 min drive to Colorado Springs from Daniels Park, Pikes Peak is tall enough to be seen from a long way away. I used my portrait lens for this since 85mm is the longest my lenses at the time could get. Daniels Park is known for its gorgeous sunsets views. With a golf course in the valley and the front range in front of you what more could you want? I would highly recommend going for sunset and take some tea and stay into the night. Once the sky goes black you can see the scattered house lights moving across the valley!
