Steamboat Springs, Colorado is an amazing ski town. While I was only in the town for about two days there were more than enough hiking and eating opportunities. This trip was at the beginning of February 2019 right about the time all the massive avalanches were happening in Colorado, the most popular one was on I-25 before Silverthorn. So needless to say there was a lot of snow. As seen in the picture above you can see areas on the cliff that have had tiny avalanches.

Now I do not think I am the best snow photographer in the world and I do have much to learn. However, throughout these photos I noticed I struggled with exposure the foreground was often underexposed and the sky overpowered the photo thus needing more editing. But some things to take away from this hike was that when shooting with snow and there is a massive contrast due to light maybe work more up close to your subject and work the macro instead of wide angles.
