This picture right here is one of my favorite photos. That is why it the the main picture on all things Colorado Photo Stories. I had gotten up for a sunrise at this location and when I had set up I saw that there were a lot of clouds. This made me scared, because my plan was to have the sun hit the top of Mount Wilson and move its way down into the aspen groves. The clouds hindered that plan for sure. However, the random cracks in the clouds gave multiple different light patterns and I was lucky enough to get a picture with the sun just shining through enough to lightly brighten the peak and the clouds around it. The picture below shows how different the sun was throughout those thirty minutes of sunrise.
This is still Mount Wilson, this time peaking through some aspens on the way back from the sunrise spot. It was really dry this year this is why the aspens have such firey colors!
The picture above is off of the popular last dollar road outside of Telluride, Colorado. This road has mansions like popular brand creator Ralph Lauren as well as a couple other celebrities. The gorgeous aspen groves covering the road and incredible views when you have breaks in trees.
The photo below is of leaves thawing out from the chilly night. When I was waiting for the sun to peek through the clouds I looked down and saw these leaves with tiny beads of water and I loved the aesthetic it created.
This photo right here was fun! This river runs straight through Telluride and was right outside the motel where I stayed. After a long day of being out for sunrise then walking around the town I decided that I just would play with with the river and the leaves around it. For this photo I set a longer exposure and gathered a bunch of leaves off the ground. I threw the leaves into the river in hopes that I would get leaf trails! I luckily did, and the background made it even more beautiful with the yellow streaks coming down the frame!
